Class Descriptions

 

:: Parkour for Teens/Adults – Level 1

This five-class rotating curriculum is designed to teach you the foundations of parkour; each class consisting of basic techniques and concepts that don’t have prerequisites so that students can start at any point in the rotation. Athletes will learn basic skills including quadrupedal movement, falling in all directions, landing, parkour rolls, jumping, basic strength training skills, getting up and down waist-high obstacles, developing ground & air awareness, and much more. The Level 1 Class will establish the solid foundation needed for an athlete to move onto Level 2.

:: Parkour for Teens/Adults – Level 2

Prerequisites for this class: Completion of Parkour for Teens & Adults – Level 1, or be able to show proficiency in the Earth Band Challenge skills.

This course continues on the fundamentals of parkour building students up to an intermediate level, promoting a high level of physical fitness, and emphasizes the relationship between the two. Athletes will continue skills including quadrupedal movement, landings, rolls, falling safely, basic gymnastics, jumps, cat leaps, vaults, underbars, tic-tacs, wall runs, and basic freerunning tricks. Additionally, athletes will apply these skills to complete longer movement combinations and obstacle courses.



:: Parkour for Teens/Adults – Level 3

This course is designed to further challenge those participants with solid fundamentals and a capable fitness level. Through repetition and skill refinement, athletes will learn intermediate skills and be expected to complete more difficult workouts. Dedication to conditioning and skills training outside of class is necessary to progress at this level.



:: Parkour for Teens/Adults – Levels 4, 5 & 6

At Level 4, the journey separates into specialties. The athlete will have the opportunity to focus on one of three disciplines: Skills, Speed or Acrobatics (Acro). 

The Skills path will take the athlete on the quest for perfection of fundamental Parkour techniques. 

The Speed path is all about doing it fast. Athletes will work on efficient, quick movement through courses.

In Acro, the will work on the more artistic side of the sport. They will learn more Freerunning techniques and acrobatic skills.

An athlete can focus on one discipline or work on two or three at the same time. 



 

:: Adult Parkour – Level 2

Prerequisites for this class: Completion of the Parkour for Teens & Adults – Level 1, or be able to show proficiency in the Earth Band Challenge skills.

This course continues on the fundamentals of parkour building athletes up to an intermediate level, promoting a high level of physical fitness, and emphasizes the relationship between the two. Athletes will continue skills including quadrupedal movement, landings, rolls, falling safely, basic gymnastics, jumps, cat leaps, vaults, underbars, tic tacs, wall runs, and basic freerunning tricks. Additionally, athletes will apply these skills to complete longer movement combinations and obstacle courses.
