Class Descriptions

 

:: Introduction to Parkour for Teens/Adults

This four-class rotating curriculum is designed to teach you the foundations of parkour; each class consisting of basic techniques and concepts that don’t have prerequisites so that students can start at any point in the rotation. Students will learn basic skills including quadrupedal movement, falling in all directions, landing, parkour rolls, jumping, basic strength training skills, getting up and down waist-high obstacles, developing ground & air awareness, and much more. The Intro to Parkour will establish the solid foundation needed for a student to move onto Level 1.

:: Parkour for Teens/Adults – Level 1

Prerequisites for this class: Completion of the Introduction to Parkour Course, or be able to show proficiency in the Introduction to Parkour skills.

This course continues on the fundamentals of parkour building students up to an intermediate level, promoting a high level of physical fitness, and emphasizes the relationship between the two. Students will continue skills including quadrupedal movement, landings, rolls, falling safely, basic gymnastics, jumps, cat leaps, vaults, underbars, tic-tacs, wall runs, and basic freerunning tricks. Additionally, students will apply these skills to complete longer movement combinations and obstacle courses.



:: Parkour for Teens/Adults – Level 2

This course is designed to further challenge those participants with solid fundamentals and a capable fitness level. Through repetition and skill refinement, students will learn intermediate skills and be expected to complete more difficult workouts. Dedication to conditioning and skills training outside of class is necessary to progress at this level.



:: Parkour for Teens/Adults – Level 3

This course is designed for practitioners who aim to take their parkour and freerunning skills to an elite level. Mastery of the basics and a high level of fitness are absolutely necessary to participate. These classes will emphasize a diverse and constantly changing set of skills focusing on parkour and freerunning but will also include material in tricking, martial arts, gymnastics, and climbing.



 

:: Adult Parkour – Level 1

Prerequisites for this class: Completion of the Introduction to Parkour Course, or be able to show proficiency in the Introduction to Parkour skills.
